Suspect tosses replica gun into Jack in the Box trash while fleeing Vallejo police

(KRON) -- A man who allegedly brandished a firearm at customers inside of a Vallejo Jack in the Box restaurant before running from police was arrested Friday, according to the Vallejo Police Department.
Police responded to the fast food location on Admiral Callaghan Lane near Tennessee Street on multiple reports of a male suspect who was yelling at customers while brandishing a firearm. The manager of the restaurant was advised to evacuate everyone inside as officers responded.

The suspect fled the Jack in the Box through a side door as authorities were working to surround the building, police said. He fled west, jumped a fence and entered Interstate 80 during rush hour traffic. After crossing the center median of the freeway, police closed in and tackled the man.
After a search, Vallejo officers located a replica firearm in a trash can inside the Jack in the Box.
The man was arrested and transported to a hospital for medical clearance before being booked into the Solano County Jail, Vallejo PD said.
