Final lottery for medical cannabis dispensary licenses
Dec 16, 2024
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The final medical cannabis dispensary license lottery for Fayette and Jefferson Counties is happening Monday afternoon in Louisville, according to Governor Andy Beshear.
Officials say the lottery, scheduled to begin at 2 p.m., will determine the final licenses for medical marijuana businesses in the state’s two largest counties. The event will be live-streamed on the Kentucky Office of Medical Cannabis’ YouTube channel.
This follows a prior drawing last month that allocated licenses for dispensaries in nine other regions across Kentucky.
Medical marijuana will officially become legal in the state on January 1, 2025.
