Pueblo's 15th Give and Gig raises money, gifts for kids in need
Dec 16, 2024
(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The annual Give and Gig took place on Sunday, Dec. 15 in a bar in Pueblo for the 15th year in a row.
The annual event was held at The Breakers Arcade Bar and supports the children of CASA and Boys and Girls Club. The event began 15 years ago when a group of friends thought if you could buy a beer or a drink at the bar — then you could afford to give a gift to a kid in need.
"Every year feels good, but this is wonderful. Fifteen is a milestone, so many things come and go." said the Creator of Give and Gig Jerry Carter. "It's harder because it's hard to get a team organized, but the generous friends and sponsors and family and businesses like Angelo's Pizza, Boys and Girls Club, are continuously there to support them, CASA who partners with us. It was even greater this year just because of the numbers we did."
During the event, everyone who purchased a stocking were offered pool, football, and free food. Those who wanted to attend and not purchase a stocking could spend $10 to help pay for any other remaining stockings.
Other locations with stockings included Angelo's Pizza, Graham's Grill North, Credit Union of Colorado, Amenity Barber, Pueblo Chamber of Commerce, and Tacos Navarro.
