(KTLA) – Actress Jill Jacobson, who appeared on such shows as "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and "Falcon Crest," has passed away. She was 70 years old. Jacobson died on Dec. 8 at the Cedars-Sinai Culver West Health Center after battling "a long illness," her publicist Dan Harary told The Hollywood Reporter. "We are incredibly sad to say goodbye to our beautiful, soulful, hysterically funny, elegantly raunchy client, Jill Jacobson," her manager Ben Padua told Nexstar's KTLA. "Jill was a total spitfire of an actress with comedic timing straight out of a Marx Brother’s flick and Hollywood glamor right from its golden age. Jill took us on so many adventures and she was an absolute blast. Thank you Jill. (Phillip Faraone/WireImage) In September, Jacobson opened up about her two-and-a-half-year battle with esophageal cancer in an interview with Jim Masters. She was a spokesperson for the American Cancer Society and was awarded for her work in that space. “What I went through was pretty intense. You can’t function, you just can’t function. And now I’m so grateful, I just want to keep going, I want to help people. Jacobson began her Hollywood career in 1977, nabbing the title role in the cult horror film "Nurse Sherri." Over the following decades, she appeared in hit series including "Who's the Boss?", "Days of Our Lives," "Murphy Brown" and "Newhart." Fans of "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" may also recognize Jacobson from her appearances on the shows in 1989 and 1996, respectively. Jacobson also had a recurring role "Falcon Crest" from 1985 to 1987, and a recurring role on "The New Gidget" between 1986 to 1987. Her last credited role was in the television series "Etheria" in 2020, according to IMDb. “Beautiful, energetic, and positive to the end, she will be deeply missed by numerous relatives, friends, and her beloved dogs Benny and Kowalski,” her family said in a statement obtained by Deadline.
