Kelly Armstrong begins term as North Dakota governor

BISMARCK, N.D. (KXNET) — Kelly Armstrong has officially begun his term as Governor of North Dakota.
According to a press release from the Office of the Governor, Armstrong will be the 34th governor of the state in its 135 years of existence. He, along with Lieutenant Governor Michelle Strinden, originally took the oath of office (which was administered by Secretary of State Michael Howe) on Friday, December 13, alongside their families and former governor/first lady Doug and Kathryn Burgum.

“Serving the citizens of North Dakota as the 34th governor is the honor of a lifetime," Armstrong stated in the release. "Kjersti and I are humbled beyond words for this opportunity. After six years of representing North Dakota in Congress, it’s good to be home. Let’s get to work.”
