Weather Forecast: Here comes the warmth
Dec 15, 2024
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Looking ahead to the workweek, the weather is shaping up to be quite active. Monday evening kicks things off with widespread rain showers, followed by scattered showers Tuesday morning and afternoon. Temperatures for both days will remain in the upper 40s. However, Tuesday will be one of the days that will feature our high temperature earlier in the day. This means as the day continues on, we will likely experience decreasing temperatures.
8-Day Forecast
Wednesday brings a rain/snow mix, with some accumulation possible if precipitation lingers long enough south of the region. Temperatures for Wednesday will remain in the upper 30s and low 40s. However, a cold front will slice through the region Wednesday night and into Thursday, allowing for cooler air to rush in and a change of wind direction. As northwest winds roll in later, lake-effect snow could develop Thursday morning.
Friday starts with a mix of sun and clouds, but by Friday night, a strong low-pressure system will usher in widespread snow showers. The snow will continue into Saturday and Sunday, accompanied by brisk northwest winds and additional lake-effect snow.
