Marcy, N.Y. — An inmate at a Utica-area state prison died last week after the “use of force” by staff members, officials said.The incident involving the inmate occurred last Monday at the Marcy Correctional Facility, according to a Sunday evening news release from Daniel Martuscello III, the commissioner of the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision. The inmate was taken to a local hospital, where they died the following day, he said.
