Be prepared for freezing rain and light snow in Central NY until Sunday night
Dec 15, 2024
A report from the National Weather Service was issued on Sunday at 5:19 p.m. for freezing rain and light snow until 11 p.m. for Onondaga, Madison, Oneida and Cortland counties."A light mixture of snow, sleet, patchy freezing rain and valley rain is occurring across the area this evening. The greatest hazard will be the potential for isolated icing from freezing rain, especially over the higher elevations where temperatures are in the upper 20s and low 30s. Snow accumulations by late tonight will be between 1 to 3 inches with a light glaze of ice also possible in isolated locations. This snow and ice could create slippery conditions on untreated roads and surfaces. Use caution if driving, or heading outside this evening," states the weather service.
