Motorcyclist killed in hitandrun crash on east side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS — A motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash on the east side of Indianapolis Sunday night.
According to to a press release from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to the intersection of East 16th Street and North Post Road around 8 p.m. on a report of a personal injury crash. When police arrived at the scene, they learned a motorcycle and car had collided.
Upon further investigation, law enforcement learned that the driver of the car involved in the incident drove away from the scene after the crash.
The motorcyclist involved in the crash was transported from the scene to a local hospital in critical condition. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead shortly after medics got them to the hospital.
IMPD's crash investigators are still examining the incident. Police have yet to provide any information on suspect vehicles or persons of interest that may have been involved in the crash.
