Unseasonable warmth; cold front coming Wednesday Your 9Day Forecast
Dec 15, 2024
Unseasonably warm! That was today! Our high was 69, which is 12-degrees above normal. The record is 74 set in 1889 and 2016. Las Cruces made it to 77 today... clearly a record for them.
You may be wondering... what are you doing with that giant balloon?? It must be a very special birthday. No, it's a weather balloon. I have not launched one since the summer of 1994, and I want to thank the National Weather Service in Santa Teresa for giving me a re-familiarization tour of the facility and all the upgrades. One thing never changes: that giant balloon must go up twice a day right on time! (Just make sure you let go!)
