Water main break in Northeast DC leaves several homes, church without water

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- A water main broke in Northeast D.C. on Sunday, leaving several homes and a church without water.
In a post on X shortly after 3 p.m., AlertDC said an eight-inch water main broke, leaving the area of Gallaudet Street and Corcoran Street without water.

As a result, DC Water reports that around 20 homes, four apartment buildings, a church and two fire hydrants are seeing the effects.
Crews are working to repair the break and restore service. The estimated restoration time is eight to 10 hours, according to AlertDC.
