Dec 15, 2024
INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Metro Police Department is now calling a death investigation that started two months ago a homicide case.
According to IMPD, on Oct. 19, officers were called just after 8 p.m. to the 8400 block of Chateaugay Drive for a death investigation. There, police found a woman — later identified as 24-year-old Alisa Raufeisen — with injuries consistent with trauma. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
After officers found Raufeisen, the Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency began to collect potential forensic evidence. The Marion County Coroner's Office is also assisting IMPD with its investigation.
On Thursday, the coroner's office officially determined Raufeisen's cause of death to be a homicide.
While no suspects have been publicly named, police encourage those with information on the incident to call the IMPD Homicide Office at (317) 327-3475 or email detective Christopher Winter at [email protected].
Alternatively, tipsters who wish to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana by calling (317) 262-8477, using the P3Tips mobile app or visiting www.CrimeTips.org.
