Two Rivers duplex fire causes an estimated $100,000 in damages, Red Cross assisting

TWO RIVERS, Wis. (WFRV) - A fire broke out at a Two Rivers duplex early Sunday morning, although it was quickly put out, the damages are estimated at around $100,000.
According to the Two Rivers Fire Department, crews were called to a two-family duplex in the 1900 block of East River Street around 3 a.m. on December 15.

When crews arrived, the residents had already evacuated, and heavy smoke and fire could be seen coming from the home's second story. Authorities say the fire was put out 'rapidly.'
The second-story residence and its contents reportedly sustained heavy fire and smoke damage that may exceed $100,000, while the first floor sustained water and smoke damage.
The upstairs residents suffered minor injuries and smoke inhalation but refused hospital treatment. All occupants are being assisted by the Red Cross.
The fire is currently under investigation. No additional details were provided.
