Cleveland Clinic has named Dr. Brian J. Harte president of Hillcrest and Mentor hospitals, and president of the East Submarket of Cleveland Clinic’s Northeast Ohio Market, effective Feb. 1.
According to a Cleveland Clinic news release, Harte will work closely with institute and hospital leaders to plan the strategic coordination of care and services that best meet the needs of patients in the East Submarket. He will also focus on enhancing patient, physician and caregiver experience in the East Submarket, which includes Euclid, Hillcrest, Marymount, Mentor and South Pointe hospitals, as well as family health centers and outpatient facilities.
“Dr. Harte has a proven track record of leading our caregivers to achieve the highest standards of quality and safety, and he does it with thoughtfulness and empathy,” said Dr. Jorge A. Guzman, president of the Cleveland Clinic Northeast Ohio Market. “He will help caregivers fulfill our mission to be the best place to receive care and the best place to work in healthcare.”
Harte has been with Cleveland Clinic for more than 20 years. He currently serves as president of Cleveland Clinic Akron General and Lodi Hospital and president of the South Submarket of the Northeast Ohio Market.
For the past eight years, he has been president of Akron General and Lodi hospitals. Prior to his current role, he served as president of Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest and South Pointe hospitals and was the former chairman of the Department of Hospital Medicine and the Medicine Institute at Cleveland Clinic.
Harte replaces Dr. Richard D. Parker, who will be retiring, effective Jan. 31.
An internal search will be conducted for president of the South Submarket of the Northeast Ohio Market and president of Akron General and Lodi hospitals, according to the release.
