Landmark old tree preserved with new PikeRide station

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — What started as a parking dilemma and an effort to save an old tree has turned into a new PikeRide location in Old Colorado City.
The City of Colorado Springs said that the roots of a large tree in the 26th Parking Lot in Old Colorado City were starting to take over two parking spaces. But instead of cutting it down to save the spots, the city turned the area into a new e-bike station, saving a landmark tree. On Friday, Dec. 13, the city unveiled the new station.
