BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- People lined the blocks of North Chester Avenue Saturday morning as Oildale gathered to celebrate the spirit of Christmas. The theme for 2024 was "Christmas Around the World" and it's one of the last remaining "non-motorized" parades in the country. There were plenty of mighty middle school bands displaying their talents during the parade, bringing joy to residents north of the river. The parade kicked off along North Chester Avenue at 10 a.m.
