TOPEKA (KSNT) - The Topeka Police Department (TPD) has released the identity of the city's 21st homicide victim of 2024.
Rosie Nichols with the City of Topeka announced in a press release on Saturday, Dec. 14 that the city's latest homicide victim has been identified as David Bentley, 45, of Topeka.
Police were called just before 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12 to the 2000 block of Southwest Stone on reports a person was suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers arriving in the area found a person who was declared dead at the scene. This is under investigation as the 21st homicide case for the Capital City in 2024.
