The Community Chorus of Redlands will continue its 2024-25 season with “A Community Chorus Christmas!” programs to be presented Friday and Saturday, Dec. 20 and 21. The Friday concert is 7 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 419 S. Fourth St., Redlands, and the Saturday concert is 2 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 12449 California St., Yucaipa. The programs will include Antonio Vivaldi’s “Gloria” with full orchestra, along with carols and hymns for the season. Soloists will be Meghann Heinrich and Stephanie Shepson. Preceding the Saturday performance, the chorus will present a “Christmas Family Sing-Along” at noon, also at Faith Lutheran Church. “We are excited to perform Vivaldi’s masterwork this season,” Jamison Stevens, director of the Community Chorus, said in a news release. “We are also thrilled to introduce this new offering designed specifically for families with young children. Come sing, dance and be loud!” The Community Chorus of Redlands was formed in the fall of 1979 by Jeffrey H. Rickard, who was then director of choral activities at the University of Redlands, to participate with the university choirs in the presentation of the annual Feast of Lights. Stevens, who is also director of music at Community Presbyterian Church in Redlands, was appointed artistic director of the chorus in this past summer. The choir’s associate director and accompanist is Irmengard Jennings. Following the December concerts, the Community Chorus season will continue in the spring with a performance of Gabriel Fauré’s “Requiem” with choirs from the University of Redlands and a concert for Memorial Day. All performances are free, though an offering is accepted. For information, go to facebook.com/ccredlands or contact Stevens at [email protected].
