COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. (WRIC) -- An investigation is underway after a 22-year-old man was shot at Southpark Mall on Saturday afternoon. According to the Colonial Heights Police Department, officers responded at around 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14 to the report of a person shot at Southpark Mall. Once on scene, officers found a 22-year-old man with an apparent gunshot wound to his leg. He was then taken to a local hospital by Colonial Heights Fire and EMS with non-life-threatening injuries. Police said the incident is still being investigated "to determine the circumstances" but they believe there is no further danger to the community.
