SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- If you named your baby Oliver in 2024, he's going to have a lot of peers with the same name. Sanford and Avera released the top five names for babies born in 2024. SFPD: Don’t leave cars unlocked and running Coming in number one for both hospitals is Oliver. Sanford Health said the name topped its list for the fourth year in a row. The top five boy names at Sanford were Oliver, Henry, Liam, Theodore and Brooks in order. For girls, Lainey came in at No. 1, which was a first this year. Coming in second was Amelia, followed by Evelyn in third. Forth place saw a three way tie between Aurora, Charlotte and Nora. Olivia came in fifth for Sanford's baby girl names. Sanford has delivered nearly 9,000 babies so far this year. July had the highest number of births. Elf on a Shelf spices up shopping in DTSF Avera Health puts out one list for both boys and girls this year. After Oliver comes Bennett in second, followed by Brooks in third and Jack in fourth. The only girl name to make the list, Violet, came in fifth. Avera hospitals delivered 4,405 babies in 2024. The most popular 2024 baby names across the country are Noah, Liam and Oliver for boys and Olivia, Amelia and Emma for girls, according to an October BabyCenter report.
