KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Paola Police Department is investigating after one man was killed and another was injured in a crash late Friday night. According to police, at about 8:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of East Peoria Street and South Castle Street on reports of a single-car crash. Investigations revealed that a Subaru WRX, a sports car, had been driving eastbound on Peoria Street when it drove off the road and hit two trees. KCPD investigating random yard waste fires in Kansas City neighborhoods The driver, a 40-year-old Harrisonville man, was taken to a metro hospital by Miami County emergency responders. The passenger, 30-year-old Nathaniel Jacobs of Twin Lake, Michigan, was taken to the Miami County Medical Center where he later passed away from his injuries. Paola police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
