Man killed, another injured in Friday night Paola, Kansas crash

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Paola Police Department is investigating after one man was killed and another was injured in a crash late Friday night.
According to police, at about 8:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of East Peoria Street and South Castle Street on reports of a single-car crash.
Investigations revealed that a Subaru WRX, a sports car, had been driving eastbound on Peoria Street when it drove off the road and hit two trees.

The driver, a 40-year-old Harrisonville man, was taken to a metro hospital by Miami County emergency responders. The passenger, 30-year-old Nathaniel Jacobs of Twin Lake, Michigan, was taken to the Miami County Medical Center where he later passed away from his injuries.
