Man arrested after assaulting 2 people, stealing and crashing a tow truck into an Apex business, police say

APEX, N.C. (WNCN) — A man is facing a list of charges after assaulting two people, as well as stealing and crashing a tow truck into a building on Williams Street in Apex, police said.
According to their news release, the Apex Police Department responded to an assault call around 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Circle K on the 700 block of East Williams Street. Officers said they found the suspect, who fled the scene after assaulting the victim.
Just after that report, officers said they responded to another assault victim by the same suspect nearby at the Apex Inspection Center. The suspect attempted to flee police, but this time in a stolen tow truck from the inspection center, according to officers.

Officers went on to say that the suspect drove the truck into Apex Coins & Currency, next door to the inspection center, where they apprehended the suspect. Pictures from the Apex Police Department show the tow truck went through the front and back of the property.
The identity of the suspect is being withheld at this time pending further investigation, according to the Apex Police Department. He was charged with two counts of strongarm robbery, two counts of assault with one inflicting serious injury, larceny of a motor vehicle and injury to property.
Officers said the Apex Fire Department was called to the scene to search and rescue any possible occupants of Apex Coins & Currency, but found no one inside of the business. Due to damages, the business has been condemned by Apex Building Inspections & Permitting until further notice.
