FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — A large number of heavily armed police positioned themselves near a Motel 6 in the 3000 block of W Coliseum Boulevard Saturday afternoon. The Fort Wayne Police Department's Gang and Violent Crime Unit received a tip around 2:45 p.m. that a man suspected in a Michigan murder, 30 year old Dominique Mack, was in Fort Wayne. There was an active warrant for his arrest. He faces charges on suspected murder and home invasion crimes. A Wane 15 crew member at the scene confirmed that officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department and an armored vehicle were on site. A SWAT team in area could be heard asking someone to come out of the building. Mack was taken into custody without incident. He will be taken to the Allen County Jail and extradited to Michigan soon. Police left the scene at around 4 p.m. We will keep you updated as we learn more details.
