Child hurt, 1 dead after multiple shootings reported in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating after two shootings were reported on Friday, Dec. 13 and Saturday, Dec. 14.
Officers responded to a shooting near the intersection of North Acadian Thruway and Fairfields Avenue around 3 p.m. Saturday and learned a juvenile victim was struck in the leg.
A second victim was found on Tecumseh Street in critical condition, a spokesperson for Baton Rouge Emergency Medical Services said. BRPD said the victim in critical condition was pronounced dead.
In a separate shooting on Friday, BRPD was called to Choctaw Drive. Police said three people were injured by gunfire around 9:40 p.m. and were non-life-threatening.
