Chilly start to weekend, rainy and mild Sunday
Dec 14, 2024
Central Ohio Weather and Radar
High clouds increased, with a light east wind, on the western edge of high pressure, allowing readings to bounce back into the mid-40s after a couple of subfreezing days and frigid wind chills.
A steady rain arrives after midnight, as a low-pressure system tracks from the Midwest to the Great Lakes. The rain could begin as freezing rain in parts of northeastern Ohio, where a winter weather advisory is in effect through Sunday morning.
The rain will taper to showers Sunday afternoon, but linger through the evening, with totals near a half-inch.
There will be a brief lull in the damp pattern Monday morning, but another system will approach from the west, bringing a soaking rain (up to 1 inch), along with breezy, milder conditions.
Dry weather will return Tuesday and part of Wednesday, as high pressure builds in from the west, with a slight cool-down to the 40s, and chilly mornings near freezing.
A cold front will bring a chance for showers later on Wednesday, followed by seasonably cold, dry weather for the remainder of the week. A few snow showers are possible early in the weekend with a clipper system.
