Jamie Foxx hit with glass in fight at birthday dinner, recovering with stitches

Jamie Foxx is recovering after a fight allegedly broke out at his birthday dinner Friday night, with a rep for the actor confirming he “had to get stitches.”
The incident occurred at around 10 p.m. at Beverly Hills restaurant Mr. Chow, when “someone from another table threw a glass that hit him in the mouth,” his rep told TMZ on Saturday. “The police were called and the matter is now in law enforcement’s hands.”
A witness told the outlet the altercation unfolded when customers at a nearby table were being rude and vulgar to Foxx as he was celebrating his 57th birthday. When the actor requested they stop since his family was present, someone at that table threw the glass.
Police responded to the restaurant and took a report for assault, but the Oscar winner had reportedly already left by the time cops arrived.
Earlier in the night, Foxx was photographed arriving to Mr. Chow with daughters Corinne and Anelise, and former partner Kristin Grannis. None of them had publicly commented on the incident as of Saturday evening.
The altercation comes on the heels of Foxx opening up on his near-death experience last year. In his recently released Netflix special, the “Collateral” star revealed that a brain bleed preceded a stroke which could have killed him.
Foxx says he was suffering a “bad headache” while filming a movie in Atlanta on April 11, 2023, when he asked for an aspirin and promptly “went out.” After being taken to the hospital, his sister was told he would die if doctors didn’t immediately operate.
“I don’t remember 20 days,” Foxx says, welling up, noting he was shocked to find himself wheelchair-bound when he finally regained consciousness on May 4.
Doctors told him he “might be able to make a full recovery,” but warned it would be grueling.
“They said I was paralyzed. Said I couldn’t walk. But look at me now,” he exclaims.
