CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Police conducting an investigation after hearing shots fired in north Charlotte early Saturday morning. Around 5:30 a.m., officers responded to Lucena Street in regards to an assault with a deadly weapon call. During apprehension for that incident, officers heard shots fired in the area. Police said the officers searched a nearby tow yard but could not locate the suspect. None of the officers fired their weapon during the incident. No known injuries were reported. No arrests have been made at this time. This incident is under an active and ongoing investigation.
