Having the right leadership in place can play a big part in ensuring future success for many organizations.
So we can understand why the Maltz Museum is excited to hire Jennifer Jensen as its deputy director.
This new position is part of the Beachwood museum’s strategy to continually evolve its offerings to bring greater value to its visitors and the Northeast Ohio community, according to a news release.
“We’re thrilled that Jennifer Jensen has agreed to join the museum,” Executive Director Aaron Petersal stated in the release. “She’s an award-winning curator with extensive expertise at high-profile institutions. Her creative vision, passion for storytelling, and commitment to creating meaningful experiences promise to take the museum to new heights.”
The Maltz Museum’s mission is to build bridges of tolerance and understanding by sharing Jewish heritage through the lens of the American experience.
Jensen was the inaugural curator and vice president of museum collections and exhibitions at the Jackie Robinson Museum in New York City.
She has designed and developed museum content, exhibits, inaugural programs and digital experiences for New York City’s first museum dedicated to Civil Rights, according to the release. Her specialization is creating innovative exhibits, programs, and digital products that connect visitors to material culture and its history.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to create meaningful visitor experiences at this important institution,” Jensen stated in the release. “My goal is to find fresh, innovative ways to share stories that resonate with diverse audiences.”
Before her time in New York, Jensen also held positions at the Cincinnati Museum Center and the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center.
The News-Herald believes that Jensen has the potential to be an excellent deputy director for the Maltz Museum.
