An alleged kidnapper is behind bars and a woman who says she was held against her will for four days is free.The suspect was arrested after a dramatic police chase in White Settlement around 10 a.m. Friday. It began at Walmart on Westworth Blvd. when White Settlement police say a kidnapping victim made a bold move when her kidnapper left her alone in his van. “She’s able to get out of the van, make it inside the store and use a store phone to call police,” said White Settlement Police Chief Christopher Cook. Chief Cook says the suspect Reginald Jameson, 52, drove off when police showed up. Dash camera video picks up what happened next. Police located the white minivan at an intersection on State Highway 183 but when their lights and sirens turned on, the driver refused to stop. The driver swerved around a stopped car and then ran a red light before speeding up. His luck ran out at the next light when he tried to run it but slammed into a van instead then ricocheted into a pick-up. “This guy didn’t have any respect or anybody. He didn’t care who he hurt or killed. He’s made the decision to run,” said Chief Cook With his van out of commission, the suspect ran off through parking lots before police caught up with him and deployed a stun gun, making the arrest. Jameson was taken to the Tarrant County Jail. It turns out, he was wanted out of Wisconsin for a felony parole violation. Public records show Jameson has numerous prior charges out of Minnesota and Wisconsin including convictions for domestic abuse and attempted murder. “He’s got a very lengthy criminal history,” said Chief Cook. He says it’s unclear why Jameson was in North Texas but that he knew the victim who claims she was strangled and held against her will since Sunday. “She was very scared. This man is very controlling,” said Chief Cook.Jameson faces five new charges, including three felonies: Evading arrest and detention in a motor vehicle, unlawful restraint expose victim to serious bodily injury, and assault family violence/household member impeding breath and circulation. He will be extradited back to Wisconsin after those cases here in Texas conclude. It’s unclear if Jameson has acquired legal representation.
