FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Fresno Fire crews battled a fire at a vacant warehouse near Highway City.
Around 4:30 p.m., firefighters were called to a vacant warehouse on Cornelia near Shaw avenues due to reports of smoke.
When fire crews arrived they found a fire burning inside but faced challenges in accessing the flames.
Fire officials say the property owner had reinforced the structure with large metal containers as a precautionary measure following previous incidents of fires and break-ins.
Once the firefighters managed to break through the barricades, they were able to put out the debris fire inside.
