SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Award-winning actor, comedian, songwriter and rapper Will Smith surprised fans Thursday night with the announcement of his new single, "Tantrum," following a show at The Observatory North Park.
A video posted by the venue Thursday showed the moment Smith revealed the news, along with the caption, "@willsmith exclusively announcing his latest song & music video with @joynerlucas outside of @observatorynorthpark right after his show tonight!"
"This is called 'Tantrum,' and it's me and Joyner Lucas, and it comes out...right now," Smith said into a megaphone.

According to a press release about Smith's collaboration with Joyner Lucas on the new song, "Tantrum," the track "serves as a raw letter to their inner children" and "channels anger and resilience, delivering an anthem of determination and growth."
After a hiatus from the spotlight following the incident with fellow actor and comedian Chris Rock at the 94th Academy Awards in 2022, Smith recently returned to music earlier this year, when he performed the gospel song "You Can Make It" at the BET Awards in June.
