Napa police recover $24K in stolen merchandise after Ulta smashandgrab

(KRON) -- Three juveniles and one adult were arrested after an Ulta Beauty smash-and-grab led police to $24K in stolen merchandise, the Napa Police Department announced on Thursday.
Napa police responded to a reported smash-and-grab in progress at Ulta, located at 1725 Trancas Street. According to authorities, four people entered the store armed with hammers and began to smash the display cases and steal merchandise. The four suspects fled the Ulta location in a vehicle before police officers arrived.

Arriving officers learned the direction of travel of the fleeing suspects and obtained a photo of the getaway vehicle. Deputies with the Napa County Sheriff’s Office located the vehicle driving southbound on Highway 29 and initiated a traffic stop. The four occupants of the vehicle were detained.

Inside the suspect vehicle, authorities uncovered “numerous” bottles of fragrances and other stolen items totaling more than $24,000 in value, Napa police said. Merchandise stolen from Ulta was returned to the store and the vehicle was impounded.
Three of the suspects were identified as juveniles and one suspect was identified as an adult. All four were arrested in connection to the smash-and-grab.
