National Aviation Hall of Fame ceremony coming to Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) -- For the first time in its history, the National Aviation Hall of Fame induction ceremony is coming to Wichita.
The 2025 induction ceremony will take place on Sept. 19. The hall of fame honors those who "have made groundbreaking contributions to aviation and aerospace, from breaking barriers and advancing safety standards to pioneering innovative technologies and inspiring future generations."
Founded in 1962, the National Aviation Hall of Fame is co-located with the National Museum of the United States Air Force. Two hundred seventy aviation and aerospace pioneers have been inducted, including Kansas aviation pioneers Amelia Earhart, Walter and Olive Beech, Clyde Cessna, and William Power Lear, who founded Learjet.

“Hosting the National Aviation Hall of Fame’s 2025 induction ceremony in Wichita, the Air Capital of the World, is truly amazing,” said Susie Santo, president and CEO of Visit Wichita, in a news release. “Wichita has a rich aviation history, making it a great honor to set the stage to recognize the next class of trailblazers in aviation and space.”
