PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A GoFundMe has been set up for the 16 people who lost their home during a fire on Elmwood Avenue in Providence on Dec. 10. John Aguiar, the owner of the six-family building that caught fire, set up the fundraiser due to nine of the residents “losing everything” in the fire. “These families are now without the essentials we often take for granted—clothing, beds, phones, and even their emotional support animals,” Aguiar’s daughter Michelle said on the fundraiser page. “The comfort and security of the homes they had built over the years were taken away in a single, tragic moment.” The GoFundMe can be found here.
