PLAINVILLE, Mass. (WPRI) — An investigation is underway into a deadly fire that destroyed a Plainville home Friday afternoon. Plainville Fire Chief Robert Skinner said firefighters rushed to School Street to find a home fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters went inside and found the man, who has not been identified, dead inside the home. Skinner said it appears the man used a wheelchair and was unable to escape. "Our thoughts go out to the family and loved ones of the victim at this time," Skinner said. The flames ripped through the home and caused the roof to cave in. It's unclear whether the home has been deemed a total loss. No one else was injured and the cause of the fire is believed to be accidental. Close Thanks for signing up! Watch for us in your inbox.
