Driver dead in headon crash involving school bus in Greenville Co.

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) - A driver died in a head-on crash Friday morning involving a Greenville County school bus.
The crash happened on Geer Highway near Rock Quarry Road shortly after 8 a.m.
South Carolina Highway Patrol said a school bus was headed eastbound on Geer Highway when it struck a flatbed tow truck which was stopped in traffic. Troopers said the bus continued into the westbound lanes and struck a car head-on.
The driver of the car died from her injuries at the scene of the crash, according to the Greenville County Coroner's Office.
Greenville County Schools confirmed with 7NEWS that four Travelers Rest High School students were on the bus at the time of the crash and have been reported safe.
The Greenville County Coroner's Office has not released the identity of the victim at this time.
The drivers of the tow truck and the school bus were taken to the hospital for injuries, according to SCHP.
Highway Patrol said the crash remains under investigation.
The bus driver was placed on administrative leave, according to Greenville County Schools, which they said was standard procedure.
This is the third reported school bus crash in the Upstate this week. The first report took place Wednesday in Oconee County at Cleveland Pike Road. The second was reported the following day in Anderson County.
Both bus drivers were cited following the incidents.
The crash remains under investigation by the SCHP.
