WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - Keshawn Dawson is scheduled to be sentenced Friday for a fatal shooting in Old Town that happened back in 2021.
On Sept. 7, 2021, Dawson fired into Enigma Club & Lounge in the 300 block of N. Mosley. The shooting killed 34-year-old Preston Spencer and injured several others. Police say Dawson was kicked out of the club after a fight and then returned and shot through the windows.
Dawson was originally charged with first-degree murder, but in May 2024, he entered a plea of guilty to one count of murder in the second degree and six counts of aggravated battery.
Dawson's sentencing was supposed to happen in July, but he filed a request to withdraw his plea. The court denied that motion.
