NEW YORK (WWLP) - At least one person is dead after a small plane crashed onto a highway at the Connecticut - New York state line.

Officials are saying the single-engine plane went down around 7:00 p.m. on Thursday near Westchester County Airport. It landed on I-684, according to NBC Connecticut.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) says the plane was trying to land at the small airport after the engine failed.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) says two people were on board when it went down, one died from the crash and the other is critically injured. Neither of the victim's identities have been released.
