The Loop NFL Picks: Week 15
Dec 13, 2024
Bears at Vikings (-6½)
Minnesota’s Cam Bynum and Josh Metellus did more post-interception shtick last Sunday by breaking into a dance routine from the 2004 non-Oscar winner “White Chicks.” Their end-zone gymnastics were immediately recognized by many unfortunate souls who wasted precious moments of their life on Earth watching “White Chicks.”

Jets at Jaguars (+3½)
An angry Mark Gastineau recently confronted hall of famer Brett Favre for intentionally falling in front of Michael Strahan in 2001, stripping the former Jets star of his NFL sacks record. Gastineau stopped short of striking old No. 4, mostly because Favre is not one of his exes.

Packers at Seahawks (+2½)
Brett Favre, for his part, was apologetic to Mark Gastineau during and after their confrontation at a Chicago sports card show. While the allegation of intentionally taking a sack is bad, it’s doesn’t crack the top hundred of horrible things Favre has been accused of.
Pick: Packers by 3

Buccaneers at Chargers (-3½)
Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh responded to last week’s loss to Kansas City by quoting the famed Scottish hero Sir Andrew Barton, saying his Chargers will “rise and fight again.” Harbaugh became familiar with Barton at Michigan after he was spotted by Wolverines flunky Connor Stallions.

Ravens at Giants (+14½)
Disgruntled wide receiver Diontae Johnson refused to enter the Ravens’ Week 13 game against Philadelphia and has been suspended for conduct detrimental to the team. But if coach John Harbaugh wants to punish players whose conduct has been detrimental to the Ravens, he should start with Justin Tucker.
Pick: Ravens by 50

Bills at Lions (-1½)
Buffalo’s Josh Allen boosted his MVP candidacy last Sunday night by becoming the first quarterback in history to have three TD passes and three TD runs in a single game. It can now be argued that Allen is the greatest player in Bills franchise history to not be found liable for murder.

Patriots at Cardinals (-6½)
Former Patriots coach Bill Belichick has agreed to take over as North Carolina’s head coach after school officials accepted his “organizational bible.” The 400-page document is no doubt very impressive as the 72-year-old future hall of famer had it proofread by his girlfriend and her sorority sisters.

Bengals at Titans (+4½)
Cincinnati was handed a victory by Dallas on Monday night in ESPN’s special Simpsons-themed game. The animated gimmick proved so popular, the Cowboys have been slated to play in next week’s game themed around “The Poseidon Adventure.”
Pick: Bengals by 11

Cowboys at Panthers (-1½)
Dallas’ Amani Oruwariye blew Monday night’s game by bobbling the ball after a blocked punt, gift-wrapping a victory for the Bengals. The special teamer is now just one moment of infamy from tying Leon Lett’s franchise record for doofus plays.

Chiefs at Browns (+5½)
Carly Teller, the wife of Browns lineman Wyatt Teller, ripped into Pittsburgh fans last Sunday for their “very sad/embarrassing behavior.” The Steelers fans’ “blatantly disrespectful” shenanigans were so foul, they were impossible to differentiate from the Cleveland fans.
Pick: Chiefs by 7
CLEVELAND, UNITED STATES: Security personnel move in front of the Dawg Pound fan section at Cleveland Browns Stadium in Clevelnd, Ohio, as fans begin to throw beer bottles and debris onto the field after a first-down catch by the Browns was reversed and the ball given to the Jacksonville Jaguars with 48 seconds left in the game 16 Dec., 2001. Officials called the game, but later brought both teams back to play the remaining 48 seconds. Jacksonville defeated Cleveland 15-10. Steelers at Eagles (-5½)
There’s inner turmoil in first-place Philadelphia because of a feud between former pals Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown. The relationship has gotten so toxic that the only thing the star quarterback and wide receiver can agree on is the inadequacy of Eagles coach Nick Sirianni.
Pick: Eagles by 3
