LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – An 18-year-old charged with murder in connection to a deadly October shooting in Lexington is scheduled to appear in court Friday for a hearing.
Micah Carter is accused of killing 20-year-old Jayden Sleet during a double shooting at an apartment complex on Tates Creek Road on October 24. According to investigators, a second victim was injured in the incident and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Carter was arrested Sunday in Georgetown on a homicide warrant as well as traffic-related charges. He was transferred from the Scott County Detention Center to Lexington’s Fayette County Detention Center on Thursday, according to jail records.
