EXCELSIOR, Wis. (WFRV) - A 22-year-old Wisconsin man died after being struck by a vehicle while walking on State Highway 33 on Tuesday night. According to the Sauk County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a report of a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash near State Highway 33 and Lake Virginia Road in the Town of Excelsior. The Reedsburg man was pronounced dead at the scene. Based on roadway evidence and eyewitness accounts, the Sauk County Sheriff's Office stated it appears the truck driver was exercising due care and reacted appropriately to the unexpected presence of a person in the roadway on the unlit, rural highway.
