Dec 13, 2024
DENVER (KDVR) — Remi Cordova, now 18, was sentenced to life in prison for the 2021 murder of 32-year-old Pamela Cabriales and the attempted murder of another woman when he was 14.
The sentence includes the possibility of parole after 40 years. This was the maximum sentence that he faced for killing Cabriales. He was also sentenced to eight years for the attempted murder, which will be served consecutively.
On Feb. 20, 2021, Cordova was involved in a minor fender-bender with Cabriales near Colfax Avenue and Interstate 25 when he shot and killed her with an AR-15.
The attempted murder charge was because another woman was in the car directly behind Cabriales. She was not injured in the shooting.
A jury found him guilty of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder in November.
