Parker police enact nearly 4hour shelterinplace order due to armed person who was 'acting erratically'

PARKER, Colo. The Parker Police Department enacted a nearly 4-hour shelter-in-place order for nearby residents due to an armed person who was "acting erratically" Thursday evening. The incident began around 6:30 p.m. in the 19700 block of East Centerville Court. According to police, a person called 911 to report that their family member was "acting erratically" and was armed with a gun. Officers arrived and contacted the person, along with several other people who were inside the home. Residents in the area of Parker and Indian Pipe Lane, as well as those in the area of Parker and Hess, were put under a shelter-in-place order.The Douglas County Regional SWAT team and negotiators were called out to the scene. After several hours, the suspect was taken into custody around 10 p.m., according to Parker PD. No one was injured during the incident. The shelter-in-place order has since been lifted.
