Expect a cold but dry start this morning, as roads remain slick (especially north of downtown) from Thursday's light snowfall. Some school delays and closures are expected too for our northern counties, where 1" to 2.5" of snow fell yesterday evening. The snow has ended and better weather is in the forecast through the day. This afternoon will bring pockets of sunshine and slightly better temperatures to the area! Highs will reach the middle 30s, with northeast winds at 5-10 mph. Still chilly and below average but better than Thursday's high of 22°. This weekend will bring increasing clouds on Saturday and eventually rain chances by the evening, mainly after sunset for downtown. Highs tomorrow should reach the middle 40s, on breezy southeasterly winds at 10-18 mph. Rainy weather takes hold Saturday evening and will be with us off and on through Monday evening. A few thunderstorms could actually be in the mix on Monday on milder, breezier southwest winds. Rainfall totals from Saturday through Monday could exceed 1.5" for the central part of the state.
