New Mexico governor releases proposed budget for next year

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham rolled out her spending plan for the upcoming year. The proposed budget, released on Thursday, includes nearly $11 billion in recurring spending which is a 5% increase over the current budget.
CYFD asking for roughly $413 million from state in new budget
It includes spending on infrastructure, early childhood services, housing assistance, and more. The budget also sets aside $172 million to give state workers a pay increase including educators. The lawmakers will consider the budget at their upcoming 60-day session next month.
