Police arrest man who was mistakenly released from Curry County jail

CLOVIS, N.M. (KRQE) – The man who was mistakenly released from the Curry County Detention Center is back in custody on Thursday. Alex Zapata, 27, surrendered himself to police after they surrounded the home he was stowing away at. Judge sentences man to 10 years in prison for child abuse in Albuquerque Zapata is accused of murdering a man in 2023 after a botched armed robbery.
