COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. (WRIC) -- Police are searching for a man accused of hitting a male victim with his car behind a 7-Eleven in Colonial Heights in mid-November. At about 2 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12, a male victim was found with serious injuries behind the 7-Eleven at 617 Boulevard. Officers with the Colonial Heights Police Department were told by witnesses that the victim was hit by a driver who fled the scene. The victim was taken to a local hospital, then transferred to VCU Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. As of the time of the crash, he was considered in serious but stable condition. On Thursday, Dec. 12 -- exactly a month after the initial incident -- the department provided an update on its investigation, announcing that it had identified the suspect.
