BRANDON, S.D. (KELO) -- O'Gorman and Brandon Valley met in the final game of the 2024 season, where the Knights claimed a 55-42 win to secure the Class 'AA' girls basketball state championship. The two opened the season against one another Thursday night as OG prevailed once again. After a sluggish start, O'Gorman came back to knock off Brandon Valley 53-43. The top-ranked team was held to just four points in the early going as the Lynx opened up an early lead. But the second quarter belonged to the Knights, who surged in front and led by multiple possessions heading into the halftime locker room. O'Gorman (1-0) has now won 28 straight games. It is back in action Monday against Roosevelt in its home opener. Brandon Valley (0-1) is set to visit Jefferson Tuesday.
