MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Some South Memphis families are celebrating the season of giving and truly feeling the holiday spirit.  It had all the makings of a Christmas party at the Emmanuel Center in the South City area, but this was much more. A major celebration Thursday allowed 250 residents to walk away with gifts and essentials. "If we can really impact the children you're really helping a generation," said Eva Mosby, vice president of Urban Strategies, Inc. Mosby says for nearly 10 years, Urban Strategies, Women’s Foundation for a Greater Memphis and Memphis Housing Authority have teamed up to make this happen. This was year five at the South City Holiday Celebration for Rubyonna and her family. Each family walks away with a full stomach, a gift bag filled to the top with household necessities and a gift card.
