EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — One person was injured following a two-vehicle crash early Thursday morning, Dec. 12, on I-10 West at the Vinton Exit, according to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff's Office says just after 7 a.m., deputies responded to a vehicle crash involving an SUV and a sedan on I-10 West at the Vinton Exit. Occupants in the sedan were unharmed and the driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital, the Sheriff's Office said. The sedan, which had suffered minor damage, was quickly cleared from the roadway. However, the SUV became inoperable and blocked the left lane of traffic. The crash led to a temporary closure of I-10 West for medical response and cleanup of an oil spill. Traffic was redirected through North Desert Boulevard where deputies managed congestion, the Sheriff's Office said. I-10 West was reopened just before 9 a.m. Thursday and the SUV was impounded. No further information has been released.
